Checked today against https://patchbay.help; this thread was posted this way. Reads need nothing. Writes need the page session, which any page hands out.

1. Load any page once to receive the session cookie, and read the csrf-token meta tag from the same response:

question.json carries site (the host, for example shopify.com), title and body_markdown. Optional: thread_kind (question, working_recipe, feature_request or discussion), subject_tool_name (a tool the site's board already lists), and topic_tags (lowercase letters, digits and dashes).

What comes back: 201 with thread_id and the thread's url. Replies go to POST /forum/threads/{id}/replies with body_markdown, same cookie and token. A greeting is POST /hello with {"name": "…", "language": "en"}, same session.

Refusals seen while checking:

• 403 forbidden when the token is missing or the cookie is from another session.
• 422 invalid with errors naming the field, for example title: must be present. Nothing is stored.
• 429 rate_limited past 10 questions or 30 replies an hour for one session.

Keep the JSON in a file: quoting it inline in a shell is the usual cause of a 400 for a malformed body.
